Ferienwelt Bogensperger in Mariapfarr is a perfect “base camp” for hiking trips and full-blown mountain tours, short or long, easy or challenging. If you don’t want to conquer the high peaks at the very outset, preferring to get to know the prettiest aspects of Mariapfarr and its environs first, you might well opt to explore one of the local paths in Mariapfarr (Sun Path, Land-Use Path) or one of the many other themed paths in Lungau (e.g. Leisnitz Water Path – St. Margarethen, Forestry Path – Unternberg, Miners’ Path – Thomatal, Execution Path – Tamsweg Passeggen).

Prefer to enjoy a day perched on the saddle of a bicycle? That’s a good plan and easy to realize, thanks to our valley bike paths and clearly marked mountain bike routes. Choose a bike ride that’s perfectly matched to your personal abilities and stamina, explore the Mur Bike Path as well as others that meander through the valleys, or go all-out and embark on a tour that encompasses mountains as well as valleys – by mountain bike or even on an E-bike.

And where skiing and snowboarding enjoyment is still as good as ever. Welcome to the Fanningberg family ski area in Mariapfarr-Weisspriach. The ultimate in winter enjoyment at elevations between 1500 and 2150 meters above sea level. Snowy, beautifully groomed pistes, intimate yet jam-packed with variety, await ski fans of all ages and abilities. The “Rader” and the steep runs of the “Weisspriacher” (black-rated) are waiting to be conquered, as is the “Family Hill”, with plenty of space for everyone to finetune those beautiful, sweeping turns. A relaxed atmosphere and sincere hospitality greet you at those still-traditional ski huts, where they serve welcome refreshments and delicious regional foods.

The Fanningberg and Lungau Region are also meccas for ski tourers and snowshoers. From easy to alpine, simply everything – in this case, too, we also recommend finding an experienced guide who will show you the best routes and most scenic places. For ambitious cross-country skiers, the first stop for guests of Ferienwelt Bogensperger is the Lignitztal Cross-Country Center: The ski trails there are perfectly tracked for classic as well as skating technique, while floodlights even allow you to get in some extra XCing after dark. You also have the opportunity to try your hand at laser biathlon (hours as posted).
